In 2002, the WeCanRow (Women Enduring Cancer Row) was piloted in a collaborative
project between Row As One and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A wellness
and rehabilitation program for breast cancer survivors, WeCanRow begins
where surgery and physical therapy leave off, creating a new opportunity
for breast cancer patients to heal both physically and emotionally. It
utilizes rowing technique to build upper body strength, to improve self-image,
and ultimately reestablish trust in one's body. Rowers share each other's
healing process and find inner strength in the team experience.
Currently, the program, supported by grants meets once a week. If you
are interested in participating, please contact us.
