Since
2000, Row As One has entered a boat in the Head of the Charles® Regatta
in Boston composed entirely of breast cancer survivors. The first team
demonstrated for themselves and the public that women could not only survive
but thrive after treatment. This first team of rowers inspired us to begin
the year round program.
Now, the Head of the Charles® has become an important goal for women
just starting to row with the WeCanRow program. Although still composed
of many breast cancer survivors from the general rowing community, as
the new rowers in the program become more skilled and comfortable, they
will one day fill the entire boat.
This event is also an important fundraising tool for Row As One. It provides
our sponsors and donors a great way to display their support of the importance
of healthy activity after breast cancer to the 300,000+ people who attend
the race each year.
If you would like to participate in our racing boat, please email us.
We place a special emphasis on providing women who haven’t previously
raced with us before a chance to take part in this extraordinary event.
